Who We Are

Vivre Dance Project is a women's performance ensemble under the Artistic Direction of Joie Yvonne. Our debut production, Opulence premieres on Saturday, May 16th. This 50-minute multidisciplinary and multimedia work explores the layered and living tapestry of Black womanhood and girlhood through dance, vocal performance, poetry, and film.

The work is inspired by lived experiences, Biblical scriptures, West African theology, and a collection of influential African-American women including Nina Simone, Maya Angelou, Octavia E. Butler, and Eartha Kitt.

We proudly celebrate Black womanhood, sisterhood, and community. We empower women of all ages, sizes, and identities to claim their creativity through dance, music, and performance.
