HUMANALITY
HUMANALITY features a diverse musical selection with pieces including an original score by Timothy Rice Sr., Greentea Peng, and Ólafur Arnalds- among others.
Acclaimed as an “engaging, and alluring expression of the depth of spirituality through art,” HUMANALITY was created to discover healing strategies through creative movement, journaling, and poetry. This interdisciplinary work combines Yoruba and Christian beliefs. These strategies seek to equip and uplift the journey of the artist and audience alike. The inviting, immersive nature of the performance experience will provide agency for viewers to gain a sense of self empowerment through the power of spoken words.
HUMANALITY has been shown at The Movement Lab ATL and Fall for Fall Dance Festival.
HUMANALITY follows the bending odyssey of a young goddess as she goes through a series of magical growing pains. At a young age, her mother sends her away into the fifth dimension for her to accomplish just this. On this journey, she must collect all seven opened chakras. As she travels through each energy force, she learns this is not a simple task. She will have to trust her ancestors and the skills acquired from each evolution she may undergo to obtain her crown. Only then will she absorb the full potential of her strength.
